My dream has always been to set up a salsa club on the shores of Lekki Beach in Nigeria.
For the past few years I’ve been looking for the perfect spot. I’ve been looking for a place close to Victoria Island but everything I saw was always in the wrong place, had too short a lease or was simply too expensive.
Now we have a beautiful site next to the white sands of the Atlantic, just near enough to the town and foreign communities to be convenient, and just far-enough away to be special. It comprises 3 acres (18 plots) – which is huge!
The Latin Quarter will have three parts – a salsa club, a wider supporting resort, and a hotel/conference venue.
We are going to build in two phases. First, we’re going to build the salsa club and wider resort comprising a restaurant, cocktail bar, finger-food stalls, shops. Imagine this: you will be able to browse CDs, clothes, have a snack or pause for a coffee overlooking the beach. Later in the day, you can dine on fine foods and have cocktails under the stars before dancing the night away in the best salsa club on the continent.
In the second phase, we will build the hotel and conference centre.
The Latin Quarter salsa club and resort will be open from 1st October 2007 – the hotel might take a little longer.
